Cats are estimated to kill more than 1.5 billion native animals in Australia each year — more than six million animals every night. New research suggests the true toll could be even greater.

Reducing the impact of cats is a complex challenge, and there is no single solution. That’s why Australian Wildlife Conservancy has launched a new National Feral Cat Research Program.

Drawing on more than three decades of experience researching and managing feral cats, the seven-part program brings together science, technology, on-ground management and collaboration to better understand cats and develop more effective ways to reduce their impact on native wildlife.

Through research, innovation and on-ground conservation, Australian Wildlife Conservancy is working to find better ways to protect Australia’s native wildlife from this introduced predator.
